Itinerary
Day 1-2: ARRIVE TOKYOArrive Narita Airport; meet your local English Speaking Guide and transfer to your Tokyo hotel by chartered motorcoach, welcome dinner at local restaurant. Overnight Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo. Day 3: TOKYOEnjoy a full day of guided sightseeing in Japan’s capitol, Tokyo by private motorcoach; sights will include Meiji Shinto Shrine, Tokyo Metropolitan Governmental Office Observatory, the Imperial Palace, Asakusa Kannon Temple with its shopping arcade “Nakamise,” Edo Tokyo Museum and the Sumo Museum; there will be time for lunch on own along the way; in the evening, return to your hotel and join the group for dinner. DAY 4: TOKYOToday experience a cultural exchange as you travel by train to a local Japanese School; the intercultural program will allow all students to learn about the differences and similarities between Japanese and American students; lunch will be on own; after a day of discovery, return to hotel. DAY 5: MT. FUJI - HAKONEAfter breakfast, board your motorcoach and depart traveling south; sightsee Mt. Fuji as you drive to the 5th Station (7,500ft), the highest point you can drive to; lunch will be on own along the way; in the afternoon, arrive Hakone National Park for sightseeing; first enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Ashi, then visit the Owakudani Valley to view Volcanic activity; continue to the Odawara Train Station and board the Shinkansen (bullet train) bound for Kyoto; upon arrival in Kyoto, transfer to your hotel and join the group for dinner. Overnight Hearton Hotel in Kyoto. DAY 6: KYOTOThis morning, depart by chartered motorcoach for a full day tour of Kyoto; visit Nijo-Castle, Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), Heian Shinto Shrine and the Kyoto Handicraft Center for shopping; lunch on own; in the afternoon, visit Kiyozumi Temple and Sanjusangendo Hall; return to hotel and have dinner at a local restaurant; after dinner, explore on foot the Gion district or Ponto-Cho area. DAY 7: HIROSHIMA - MIYAJIMAAfter breakfast, transfer to the Kyoto station, board the Shinkansen and depart for Hiroshima; upon arrival, board your motorcoach for full day of sightseeing including the Peace Memorial Park and A-Bomb Dome Museum; take the ferry out to Miyajima for sightseeing of Itsukushima Shrine; transfer to your hotel in Hiroshima and join the group for dinner. Overnight Hotel new Hiroden in Hiroshima. DAY 8: HIROSHIMA - OSAKAThis morning, assemble in the lobby and walk to the Hiroshima Station; depart on the Shinkansen and travel to Osaka; upon arrival, transfer by subway to your hotel; this afternoon is free on own to explore Japan’s second largest city on your own; tonight, gather in the lobby and walk to a local restaurant for a farewell dinner. Overnight Hearton Hotel NishiUmeda in Osaka.
