Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVE SALT LAKE CITY

Today, our western adventure begins! Fly into "The Crossroads of the West," Salt Lake City where we'll take a tour of the city.

Day 2: AMERICAN WEST HERITAGE CENTER/JACKSON

Depart Salt Lake City and make our way to the frontier town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Travel through northern Utah's alpine dairy country for our first stop at the America West Heritage Center. After lunch, depart and drive past jewel-like Bear Lake with a stop for a special local treat. Continue north through lovely Star Valley into the Wild West town of Jackson. The evening is free for us to enjoy the many shops, art galleries and restaurants that make up this fun western town!

DAY 3: GRAND TETON/WEST YELLOWSTONE

From Jackson it is only a short drive to the Tetons, the youngest and most rugged mountains in America. As we explore Grand Teton National Park, we will stop at beautiful Jenny Lake, and then visit the magnificent Jackson Lake Lodge. This afternoon, we leave the Tetons and enter Yellowstone National Park, where we'll have lunch at the Old Faithful Inn, on the site of the world's most famous geyser. After taking the chance to see Old Faithful, we make our way to West Yellowstone for a two-night stay.

DAY 4: YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

After a relaxing morning, continue our exploration of Yellowstone by traveling the incredibly beautiful Upper Loop. Stop for a fascinating walking tour of the terraces at Mammoth Hot Springs. Then view both the upper and lower falls at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. After a full day of scenic beauty, arrive back in West Yellowstone, Montana for dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 5: WEST YELLOWSTONE/BUTTE

This morning travel through Beaverhead and Deerlodge National Forests for spectacular scenery. See the Madison Canyon Earthquake area and enjoy Alder Gulch, home of the historic ghost town - Virginia City. We'll then arrive in Butte to enjoy the National Folk Festival. The afternoon and evening are free to enjoy all the festival has to offer on your own.

DAY 6: BUTTE/MISSOULA/KALISPELL

Depart Butte for a short drive to Deer Lodge and the Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site for touring. Then travel to Missoula and stop at the Smokejumpers Base Aerial Fire Depot. In the afternoon, visit St. Ignatius Mission, established in 1854 for the Flathead Indians. This evening arrive in Kalispell for overnight.

DAY 7: GLACIER NATIONAL PARK

Sightsee Glacier National Park via the world famous "Going to the Sun Highway," amid magnificent snow capped peaks, gleaming lakes, and the virgin forests of the McDonald Valley. We'll stop at Lake McDonald Lodge located on the west side of Glacier National Park with free time to explore the area. Return to Kalispell for a tour of the historic Conrad Mansion before returning to our hotel.

DAY 8: BIG SKY COUNTRY/LAKE COEUR D'ALENE

After breakfast, the beautiful Kootenay Valley awaits us as we travel west into the lake country of the Upper Sand Point Idaho region. We'll stop in the historic mining town of Wallace, Idaho. We'll take the Sierra Silver mine tour today. Then we'll continue our journey, skirting the banks of the Pend Oreille River. We will be arriving at the most picturesque lake of them all: Lake Coeur d'Alene. Explore the bays and inlets of one of the world's most beautiful lakes aboard the Fun Fleet of Lake Coeur d'Alene Cruises. It is a short drive to Spokane, Washington, our home for the night.

DAY 9: SPOKANE/SEATTLE

This morning, get an early start on the day and depart Spokane. Travel west through the plains of eastern Washington. Then climb up the mountains and stop for lunch at a local restaurant and sightseeing of beautiful Snoqualmie Falls. Arrive in the "Emerald City," Seattle, and visit the Chittenden Locks & Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Gardens. Check into your hotel with the evening free to explore Seattle on your own.

DAY 10: SEATTLE

This morning enjoy a city tour of Seattle including Downtown and Pioneer Square. Next arrive at Seattle Center for touring of Seattle's most famous landmark, the Space Needle. After a little free time to relax, join your fellow passengers for farewell dinner experience.

DAY 11: HOME

Morning transfers to the airport have been arranged.
