Day 1: ARRIVE DENVER - CHEYENNE/FRONTIER DAYS
Arrive Denver Airport - meet your Western Leisure Guide and depart. Travel north to Cheyenne to enjoy a tour of this historic western town including the Wyoming State Capital and the Union Pacific Depot. Step back to the beginning of the last century as we check into the historic Plains Hotel for three nights stay; tonight join the group for a Welcome Cocktail Reception.
Day 2: FRONTIER DAYS
For the next two days you can consider yourself a cowboy or cowgirl as we spend time at Cheyenne's Frontier Days. With B Stand Seating at the PRCA RODEO and Frontier Night Entertainment you'll have the best seats in the house. You'll also have the opportunity to visit the Buckin A Saloon, Behind the Scenes Bucking Shoot Tour and attend the Chuckwagon Cookoff before we head over to the nightly concerts. Overnight Cheyenne.
DAY 3: FRONTIER DAYS
This morning, we're startin' the day off right with a real Pancake Breakfast served hot from the griddle! Today we'll experience Wild Horse Gulch, more exciting Rodeo action. You'll also have the chance to visit Indian Village where you can get up close and personal with the Native American culture. Join the group for dinner before we head off to the Cheyenne Frontier Days last night of Evening Entertainment. Overnight Cheyenne.
DAY 4: MAMMOTH SITE - CUSTER
Depart Cheyenne and travel north to South Dakota. Arrive in the town of Hot Springs for touring of Mammoth Site. The Mammoth Site is an in-situ (bones left as found) museum containing the largest concentration of Colombian and woolly mammoths found in the world. This afternoon we'll head into Custer State Park where we'll board 4-wheel drive vehicles for a Buffalo Safari jeep ride. After our jeep ride, we'll check into the famous State Game Lodge resort before we enjoy dinner on the lawn. Overnight Custer.
DAY 5: BLACK HILLS
Today you'll tour the famous Black Hills of South Dakota. You are on your way to Mount Rushmore, stopping first at the site of the Crazy Horse carving, a colossal (but still unfinished) project begun more than 30 years ago in honor of the famous Sioux warrior. You will arrive at Mt. Rushmore in time for lunch, and you will have plenty of time to walk around, photograph, and explore the monument. In the afternoon we will visit the famous mining town of Lead, home of the Homestake Gold Mine. Then we're off to the wild and woolly town of Deadwood. Then we will visit the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Potato Creek Johnny, Preacher Smith and Seth Bullock as we go into Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Travel to Rapid City for the night.
DAY 6: FORT LARAMIE - DENVER
Depart Rapid City and return southward. Arrive at Fort Laramie National Historic Site for touring. Then continue south to the "Mile High City" of Denver. We will enjoy a tour of this dynamic city before checking into your hotel. The rest of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to do dinner on your own and explore the city.
DAY 7: HOME
Morning transfers to the airport have been arranged.
