Day 1: ARRIVE VANCOUVER
Arrive in Canada and the city of Vancouver today. After a brief check-in with your tour director, we'll depart for a tour of this cosmopolitan city. Then we'll transfer to your overnight accommodations downtown.
Day 2: VICTORIA/BUTCHART GARDENS
This morning, you're on your way through the straits of Georgia to the largest of the Canadian Pacific Coast Islands, Vancouver Island. Travel by ferry and then by coach to British Columbia's capital city, Victoria. On the way, stop at world-famous Butchart Gardens, where you will have the opportunity to explore 35 acres of enchanting and exotic plants. Continue on your way to Victoria, where you will have the afternoon free to explore on your own. After your delightful day in Victoria, journey back via ferry to your accommodations in Vancouver.
DAY 3: FRASER CANYON/HELL'S GATE
Depart Vancouver, soon enter the deep gorges and soaring mountains as the Thompson River meets the rapids of the mighty Fraser. It is here at Hell's Gate, that an exciting Tram ride has been scheduled and where you will have lunch at the base of this magnificent canyon. Continue on for your overnight in Kamloops.
DAY 4: YELLOWHEAD HIGHWAY/JASPER
The Yellowhead Highway, which has opened "the rest of the Rockies" to motor travel, will take you from British Columbia into the heart of the Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. We'll stop at Mount Robson. Other park highlights include glacier-fed lakes, valleys, canyons, waterfalls, rivers and streams. We are on our way to the town of Jasper, Alberta for overnight.
DAY 5: ICEFIELDS PARKWAY/SNOWCOACH RIDE/BANFF
It's been described as "the most spectacular stretch of highway" in the entire Canadian National Park System - and that's saying something! You're sure to agree with the assessment as you travel the Icefield Parkway. Climb aboard a specially-constructed glacier vehicle that will carry you over the surface of the mighty icefields. You will see crevasses and seracs, and you will learn that glaciers are moving rivers of ice, thousands of years old. After this incredible journey, continue on to Banff for a relaxing two-night stay.
DAY 6: LAKE LOUISE/VALLEY OF THE TEN PEAKS
We continue our sightseeing this morning with a short drive to Lake Louise and lunch in the Chateau Lake Louise dining room. There will be time for you to stroll the grounds of the hotel before departing to Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. After a picture-perfect day, return to Banff where the remainder of the afternoon and evening are free.
DAY 7: CALGARY
Today's destination is Calgary - home of the 1988 Winter Olympics and the world famous Calgary Stampede. Our first stop in Calgary is Heritage Park Historical Village. Then we continue to Canada Olympic Park. Your tour explores the Olympic Hall of Fame and Museum, the Ice House - CODA's National Sliding Centre, and takes in the spectacular view of the city from the ski jump towers. This evening join the group for a farewell banquet.
DAY 8: HOME
This morning a group departure has been arranged for your transfer to the Calgary Airport. Reflect back on the incredible journey through the Canadian Rockies.
