Day 1: ARRIVE ANCHORAGE
Fly into Anchorage where your local guide will greet you at the gate. Meet your traveling companions at a welcome dinner featuring an Alaskan-size meal. Transfer to hotel for overnight accommodations in Anchorage.
Day 2: GLENALLEN
Depart on a city tour of Anchorage that includes a visit to the Anchorage Museum of History and Fine Art. Continue north and travel through the Matanuska Valley where they grow world record, monster vegetables in the 24-hour daylight. Visit the Palmer Visitor's Center and hear stories about the colonist and homesteading struggles in this area and view the spectacular Matanuska River and Glacier. Arrive at the rustic Alaskan community of Glennallen, this community has its foundations built on the transportation system around Alaska.
DAY 3: FAIRBANKS
Today, continue heading further north to the gold mining district and visit a rustic roadhouse along the way. Get your postcards ready for the kids and visit the North Pole for possible sightings of Santa and his reindeer. Arrive in Fairbanks, the heart of Alaska's interior this evening and our overnight accommodations.
DAY 4: FAIRBANKS
This morning, experience gold panning at the El Dorado Gold Camp, learn the history of this gold mining town and see the sites that make Fairbanks a modern city today. This afternoon, cruise on the Chena River aboard the grand sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery III which will take you back in time to the days when these rivers were used as transportation. This evening, visit the Fairbanks theme park, Alaskaland and dine at the Fairbanks Salmon Bake.
DAY 5: DENALI NATIONAL PARK
This morning, travel south to Denali National Park. Along the way, visit the river community of Nenana. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the park area. Tonight, enjoy an evening of entertainment and dining at the Denali Dinner Theater. Overnight in Denali National Park.
DAY 6: DENALI NATIONAL PARK
An early morning Tundra Wildlife Tour takes you deep into Denali National Park on a wilderness search for bear, moose, caribou, or sheep. This afternoon you are free to experience the many optional attractions in Denali including rafting, flightseeing, helicopter tours, hiking or Park Service programs. Overnight in Denali National Park for a second night.
DAY 7: ANCHORAGE
Experience the thrill of rail travel in Alaska aboard the Alaska Railroad to Anchorage. As you travel along the Susitna River, you may catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. McKinley or black bear along the shore. Overnight in Anchorage.
DAY 8: SEWARD
Exclusive motorcoach transportation will be provided from Anchorage along the Turnagain Arm to the port community of Seward. On the way, visit Portage Glacier and view an award-winning film before arriving in Seward for a late afternoon at leisure. Overnight accommodations in Seward.
DAY 9: SEWARD
Spend today in the Kenai Fjords National Park where you may view sealife in its natural habitat and hear giant pieces of ice crackle and break away into the water of Resurrection Bay. Lunch is included on Fox Island, accessible only by your cruise vessel. Overnight again in Seward.
DAY 10: HOME
This morning, your exclusive motorcoach will whisk you to Anchorage. Along the way, you may view Dall sheep on rocky cliffs along Turnagain Arm or moose roaming the valleys. Afternoon at leisure in downtown Anchorage for last minute shopping, dining and enjoyment of Alaska's largest city. Your Alaska adventure comes to an end with a transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
