Day 1: ARRIVE LAS VEGAS/ST. GEORGE
Arrive Las Vegas where our tour escort will meet us at the airport to start the tour. Depart Las Vegas and travel north to southern Utah's largest city, St. George. Check into our hotel and enjoy a get-acquainted banquet with our fellow passengers.
Day 2: ZION
Today we're off to see Utah's oldest and most famous national park, Zion National Park. We will have the opportunity to explore Zion Canyon. There will be plenty of time to explore, hike and have lunch on own; in the late afternoon, depart Zion and stop at Utah Trails Village of Many Nations Culture Center, located just outside Zion's east entrance, for a Native American experience. Then travel to nearby Bryce Canyon National Park and check into the Bryce Canyon Lodge for a two night stay.
DAY 3: BRYCE CANYON
This morning enjoy sightseeing and optional hiking in Bryce Canyon National Park. There are optional activities such as horseback riding, helicopter tours, ATV tours and more available at Ruby's Inn. This evening, visit the Paunsaugunt Wildlife Museum, a fantastic collection of North American wildlife, fish, insects and Native American artifacts.
DAY 4: CAPITOL REEF/GOBLIN VALLEY
This morning enjoy a drive on one of America's most spectacular roads. First we will be traveling through Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument. Stop in the town of Boulder for touring of Anasazi State Park with its ancient Indian ruins. Arrive Capitol Reef National Park for a wonderful picnic lunch under towering cottonwood trees and sightseeing of ancient petroglyphs. After touring in Capitol Reef, travel to Goblin Valley State Park, one of the most unique sights in the west. Enjoy short hiking in a fantasyland of oddly shaped rock formations. Next we make our way to the nearby town of Moab and check into our hotel for a two night stay.
DAY 5: ARCHES/DEAD HORSE POINT
This morning we are off to Arches National Park. Visit all the park highlights including Park Avenue, Balance Rock, The Windows and Delicate Arch. Return to Moab with some free time to shop and have lunch on own. This afternoon, travel to Dead Horse Point State Park for one of the most spectacular scenes in the southwest. This evening join the group for a delicious BBQ dinner served on the banks of the Colorado River. Then board a jet boat for a sunset ride up the river through spectacular red rock canyons.
DAY 6: MONUMENT VALLEY & THE NAVAJO
Depart Moab this morning and take your journey south. Travel to the Goosenecks of the San Juan River for a picture stop, then enter the Navajo Nation. Arrive at world-famous Monument Valley and historic Goulding's Lodge. There will be free time for shopping and lunch on own. Then we will meet our Navajo guide and board a 4-wheel drive vehicle for a scenic tour of Monument Valley. After time to view the monoliths up close and personal, return to Goulding's Lodge for overnight.
DAY 7: GRAND CANYON
After breakfast, depart Monument Valley and travel south with a stop at historic Cameron Trading Post; then enter Grand Canyon National Park for sightseeing one of the world's greatest natural wonders. After a full day to explore many scenic points, check into your hotel located just outside the park in Tusayan.
DAY 8: GRAND CANYON/LAS VEGAS
This morning, return to the Grand Canyon National Park for an early morning view and some additional touring. Then depart and travel on what was once Route 66 as we head west through northern Arizona. Stop in Kingman for lunch and touring of the Route 66 Museum. Then enter Nevada and arrive in the "Entertainment Capitol of the World," Las Vegas. Enjoy a driving tour on the way to our hotel located on the famous Las Vegas Strip.
DAY 9: HOME
Transfers to the Las Vegas Airport have been arranged. As we travel home, we'll remember all the wonderful memories and friends we have met on our fabulous vacation!
