ALBUQUERQUE TO DENVER 8 DAY

Day 1: ARRIVE ALBUQUERQUE
Welcome to the Southwest! Your tour director will meet you at the Albuquerque airport where you'll depart for your hotel in Albuquerque. Tonight join your fellow passengers for a tram ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway.
Day 2: BALLOON FESTIVAL
Today you will learn why Albuquerque is called the Balloon Capitol of the World. Just at dawn when the winds are calmest, watch the mass ascension of 600 hot-air balloons in a rainbow of colors and a variety of shapes at the world-famous Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. You'll spend the morning exploring the Fiesta; then this afternoon visit Acoma Pueblo (the famous "Sky City".) Then you'll depart back to Albuquerque for a stop at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. After your return to Albuquerque the rest of the evening is free.
DAY 3: SANTA FE
Your royal destination this morning is Santa Fe. Your city tour includes the Palace of overnors; the St. Francis Cathedral and lovely Loretto Chapel. Browse in the International Folk Art Museum, with artifacts from more than 50 countries; and stroll through the Indian Market to shop for native arts and crafts directly from the Indian artisans who create them. This afternoon is free for shopping, relaxing, and exploring in exciting Santa Fe.
DAY 4: TAOS
This morning you will visit peaceful Bandelier National Monument. Next, you will travel the picturesque high road to the resort town of Taos. You will have a chance to wander the streets, enjoying the atmosphere and allure of this delightful place. You will also visit Taos Indian Pueblo, a village that has been inhabited for over 800 years, and whose adobe structures have changed little since the first Spanish explorers saw them in the 1540's.
DAY 5: MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK
Today depart Taos enroute to Mesa Verde National Park. You will see the park's most famous ruins and visit the Museum Center. You'll stop here and enjoy the Anasazi ruins before arriving in a real "Old West" town today - Durango, nestled at the base of Colorado's San Juan Mountains.
DAY 6: DURANGO/SILVERTON
The steam-powered train, the last of its kind in America will be your transportation this morning as you ride the famous Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to the town of Silverton, Colorado. You will then depart Silverton through the "Million Dollar Highway and Red Mountain Pass" on your way to the Colorado National Monument. Your overnight accommodations are in Grand Junction.
DAY 7: DENVER
Enter the scenic Red Rock Country of Western Colorado and traverse the Continental Divide as you travel through the Rocky Mountain State. After you stop for lunch on own in Vail, home of one of the most famous ski resorts in the world, you'll travel over the last high mountain pass and descend into the "Mile High City" of Denver. This evening, join your fellow passengers for a farewell banquet.
DAY 8: HOME
Morning transfers to the airport have been arranged.
