UTAH NATIONAL PARKS TOUR

Day 1: ARRIVE SALT LAKE CITY
Welcome to Salt Lake City, meet your guide and enjoy a tour of Salt Lake City "The Crossroads of the West"; then visit the Genealogical Library for a workshop on finding your roots; tonight join the group for a welcome dinner. Overnight Salt Lake City.
Day 2: THANKSGIVING POINT - MOAB
This morning head south to Thanksgiving Point, a master gardener will lead a tour through the botanical gardens and then give a clinic on container gardens; there will be free time for touring of the world's largest Dinosaur museum "The Museum of Ancient Life", which is also at Thanksgiving Point; depart; rest stop in Price; arrive Moab and the Red Cliffs Resort on the Colorado River; tonight enjoy an outdoor BBQ dinner and then a special guest will take you on a tour of the Western Movie Museum and tell stories about the many movies that have been made in the area. Overnight Moab.
DAY 3: ARCHES
This morning the group is off to Arches National Park for a touring and exploring; a park ranger will teach you about the unique geology which created this amazing landscape then you will have the opportunity to hike to Delicate Arch; there will be excursions to other scenic and interesting locations within the park as well; after a picnic lunch, travel to Dead Horse Point for sightseeing; stop in Moab on the way back to the resort for some free time to shop and explore; evening free.
DAY 4: CANYONLANDS
Today you are in for a special treat as you board a jet boat for a ride down the Colorado River through Canyonlands National Park, your guide will enlighten you with information on the history, geology and ecology of the river and canyons, you will see Petroglyphs and ruins from the Anasazi & Fremont Indians along with spectacular scenery; stop for lunch on the banks of the river then board 4WD vehicles for a jeep excursion through the park and back to Moab; return to Red Cliffs for wine tasting and a tour of the Winery; evening free.
DAY 5: MONUMENT VALLEY & THE NAVAJO
Depart Moab; stop in Blanding at Edge of the Cedars State Park and Anasazi Ruins; arrive Monument Valley in the Navajo Nation, after a Navajo Taco lunch, a Navajo guide will take you on a Jeep Tour of Monument Valley; demonstrations of traditional Navajo arts, crafts, shelters, etc., will be given on the tour; as you experience the serenity of Monument Valley you will understand why the Navajo consider it to be sacred ground; travel to Lake Powell, stop at the Glen Canyon Dam visitors center, continue to hotel. Overnight Lake Powell.
DAY 6: LAKE POWELL - MOUNTAIN MEN
This morning enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Powell where the marvels of a 160 mile-long manmade reservoir combine with nature's creation to form one of the most spectacular bodies of water on earth; after the cruise, depart; arrive Kanab and Utah Trails Resort, here you will learn about life in the west during the 1800's. Overnight Kanab.
DAY 7: GRAND CANYON
Depart Kanab; arrive Grand Canyon National Park North Rim for touring; a park ranger will educate the group on the geology and ecology of the park then you will have time to explore and possibly hike one of the many trails; return to Kanab; tonight join the group for a BBQ dinner followed by a fun western movie making activity.
DAY 8: ZION
Depart Kanab; arrive Zion National Park for touring the intricate canyons; the visitors center will provide information on the geology and ecology of the park then you will sightsee and walk within the towering canyon walls; depart Zion and travel to Bryce Canyon. Overnight Bryce Canyon.
DAY 9: BRYCE CANYON
Bryce Canyon National Park provides some of the most spectacular and unique scenery in the west; sightseeing and an optional hike along the Navajo Loop Trail; this afternoon travel to Salt Lake City for a farewell dinner. Overnight Salt Lake City.
DAY 10: HOME
Morning transfers to the airport have been arranged.
