Day 1: ARRIVE SAN FRANCISCO
Arrive San Francisco Airport. Meet tour director and transfer to your hotel on Fisherman's Wharf. Welcome dinner on Fisherman's Wharf.
Day 2: NAPA VALLEY
This morning travel to Sausalito to enjoy the quaint local shops. Today we'll stop at the Viansa Winery and Italian Marketplace for a tour and a Tuscan gourmet lunch. This afternoon we continue towards Napa with a stop at the Truchard Vineyards for a vineyard and cave tour. We then continue on to Napa for our three-night stay. Then it's all aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train for dinner aboard this vintage train.
DAY 3: NAPA VALLEY
We'll depart late this morning for our first stop at Koves-Newlan Vineyards & Winery, a small, family owned winery located in Napa. Then we contiue to the Miner Family Winery, located in Oakville. Then, it's off to V Sattui's, which dates back to 1885. There is a tree shaded picnic grove for visitors along with a gourmet delicatessen. This afternoon our stop is at Merryvale, founded in 1983 and located in an historic old winery building in the heart of St. Helena. Our last stop is Niebaum Coppola. This historic winery was originally founded over a century ago by Gustave Niebaum and noted for its legendary Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. This evening is free to enjoy one of the many restaurants available in Napa.
DAY 4: WINE COUNTRY
We'll continue our journey this morning aboard 4-wheel drive jeeps and tour and taste our way through the back country of Napa and Sonoma Valley. Our expert driver/guides will explain the history and techniques of many of the smaller winemakers in this area. This afternoon we'll have time to explore COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts. This evening is free to explore the restaurants of Napa.
DAY 5: WINE COUNTRY
This morning we'll tour wineries in Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Our first stop is Paoletti Estates Winery which is located in Calistoga, an ideal location for making great reds. Then it is off to historic Korbel Champagne Cellars. We'll tour the antique vaults and the History Museum. We then continue to the Russian River Valley with a stop at the Rodney Strong Vineyards which is known throughout the world for its unique estate bottled and vineyard designated Sonoma County wines. Dinner this evening is at Beringer Vineyards, the oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley. You begin the tour in Beringers St. Helena Home Vineyard, which was part of the original estate in 1875, and proceed to the Old Stone Winery for a barrel tasting of a pre-release wine in the caves, followed by dinner.
DAY 6: HOME
Today we are on our way home. We'll board our motorcoach and travel the short 65 miles to the San Francisco Airport. What an incredible culinary journey we have experienced.
