DAY 1: SALT LAKE CITYArrive Salt Lake Airport and meet your Local Guide; enjoy a tour Salt Lake City including Downtown, State Capitol and more; arrive Temple Square for a guided tour and insight into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Mormons; learn about their struggle for religious freedom and an undying faith that led to an epic exodus across the American frontier; after checking into your downtown hotel, join the group for a welcome dinner Overnight Salt Lake City DAY 2: DEAD HORSE POINT - ARCHESDepart Salt Lake City and travel south into the Red Rock Country of the Colorado Plateau; after a rest stop in Price, arrive Dead Horse Point State Park for a picnic lunch with one of the most spectacular views in all the southwest; in the afternoon, enjoy sightseeing of Arches National Park; the Visitors Center will introduce you to the geological forces that created the highest concentration of natural arches in the world; then visit the main sights including Park Avenue, Balance Rock, The Windows and Delicate Arch; next take a short drive to Moab and your hotel; the evening is free to explore on your own Overnight Moab DAY 3: MONUMENT VALLEY – LAKE POWELLContinue your journey southward with a rest stop in Blanding; then enter the Navajo Nation as you cross the desert on your way to historic Goulding’s Lodge for a traditional Navajo Taco lunch; then meet your Navajo Guide and board 4WD vehicles for a tour of Monument Valley; famous for the hundreds of movies filmed in the area, you will soon learn why the Navajo consider it a sacred place; you will visit famous sights including John Ford Point, Artist Point and the Totem Pole; you will also visit a traditional Navajo Hogan to learn more about the history, culture, traditions and faith of the Navajo people; after a memorable visit, depart Monument Valley and travel to Lake Powell National Recreation Area with a stop at Glen Canyon Dam for sightseeing; arrive Page and your hotel, evening free Overnight Page DAY 4: GRAND CANYON - ZIONDepart Lake Powell and travel west past the stunning Vermillion Cliffs; then climb the Kaibab Plateau as you make your way to Grand Canyon National Park North Rim for sightseeing; enjoy amazing vistas as you visit one of the great natural wonders of the world; there will be free time for lunch on own at Grand Canyon Lodge located right on the canyon rim; this afternoon, travel north with a rest stop in the boarder town of Kanab, also known as “Little Hollywood” due to the many movies and television shows filmed in the area; then travel a short distance to Zion National Park for sightseeing and optional hiking; the free shuttle system will allow you to explore the main sights of Zion Canyon at your own pace; this evening, check into your hotel located just outside the park in the quaint town of Springdale; evening free Overnight Springdale DAY 5: BRYCE CANYON – SALT LAKE CITYDepart Springdale with one last pass through Zion National Park; then enter Bryce Canyon National Park for sightseeing and optional hiking along the rim of this unique and spectacular natural amphitheater; there will be plenty of time to visit the main view points and take pictures of the unique Hoodoo formations; stop for lunch on own at Ruby’s Inn, then depart and travel north with a rest stop along the way; arrive Salt Lake City and your hotel, then join your guide for a special farewell dinner at The Roof restaurant overlooking Temple Square Overnight Salt Lake City DAY 6: DEPARTUREIf time allows, visit the Family History Library for some education on how to research your genealogy; The LDS Church has the world’s most extensive collection of genealogy records and local experts are happy to teach you how you can access them for free; then transfer to the Salt Lake Airport; say goodbye to your guide, and depart for home (End of Service)
